The VOX Bobcat and Lynx semi-hollow body guitars, originally produced in Italy during the mid-1960s, featured unique pickup configurations and a distinct look. We have revived this iconic design in the new Bobcat V90. While preserving the historic design, we've enhanced playability, controlled acoustic feedback, and improved pickup performance.

Equipped with original V90 pickups, the Bobcat V90 delivers a wide range of punchy, warm tones while maintaining a glassy single-coil vibe. With its versatile tones and comfortable feel, the Bobcat V90 is perfect for any recording or gigging musician.

New pickups with a plethora of tones

The pickups in the Bobcat are modeled after the original Italian-made pickups, but with improved voicing. The Bobcat V90 features two original soapbar-style pickups with flat-pole pieces instead of the typical screw pole pieces. This design allows players to achieve bright single-coil sounds while maintaining the warmth and punch characteristic of soapbar-style pickups and semi-hollow body guitars. This diverse sonic palette makes the guitar perfect for a wide range of genres and styles.

Improved playability

Unlike the original models with a bolt-on neck, the Bobcat V90 features a set neck method that makes it easy to play even on the higher frets. The fixed Tune-o-matic bridge provides the optimal neck angle for easy playing, significantly improving playability compared to the original.

Weight relieved spruce center block

The semi-hollow body structure features a weight-relieved Spruce center block, enhancing sustain and dynamics while resisting feedback even at high volume levels. This design allows the guitar to capture subtle and nuanced playing without feedback issues common to semi-hollow body guitars. Additionally, the lightweight construction of the center block makes the guitar ideal for gigging.
